About

Bio

Patrick S. Clark also known as PS. Clark, is a curious DIY musician / songwriter / producer known for his unapologetic mature approach to pop that combines influences from pop, rock, soul, indie and jazz.
Raised in Bucks County Pennsylvania, Patrick was introduced to drums, guitar, bass and piano at a young age. While being self-taught he did take online classes from The Berkeley School of Music to become proficient with Ableton Live. More recently Patrick studied Music Theory online with The University of Edinburgh in Scotland.

Patrick’s music career consisted of performing with several cover bands in the Philadelphia area. Most notably, Patrick was a co-founder of the still active and fun pop cover band “The Zings”.
Patrick stepped away from the cover band scene and soon found himself building a home studio know as FROG Studio. In real estate lingo, a FROG is a “Finished Room Over Garage.”

In February of 2022 his first single “The Way” was released followed by “Worth It”, "People Pleaser", "She Still Looks Good
" , "Clock Work ", "Playground" & Glow” . The December EP "Top Line Sessions" features the new track “Lesson Learned” which marks the eighth release 2022.

As the post-script introduces an additional remark at the end of a letter, The “Ps. Clark” Moniker represents an addition to his music career.

These are the sort of things that push you on in music - the curiosity, a passion for new ideas. ” - Elvis Costello

February 14, 2023 - Happy Valentine's Day! I'm celebrating this year by dropping my first song of 2023 "Come Wake Me Up". Theres a lot of things that make me proud of this song but one stands out above the rest. I'm so pleased with the mixing and mastering of this song I can't stop listening to it. I've learned how important it is to take your time on the final stages of production. It really pays dividends to be patient with it. A few weeks back my catalog went over 100,000 streams on Spotify. Granted, this is a drop in the bucket for many artists, but for this low key indie guy it's a milestone.  I now have all of my songs in a single playlist called PS. Vibes on Spotify. It's fun to listen to the nine tracks like an album to see how the tracks work together. Thanks for stopping in to see what I'm up to - Be Well!

December 21, 2022 - Happy Holidays! I'm on vacation skiing in Utah and couldn't be happier to take a minute to share my thoughts on the release of the EP "Top Line Sessions". The single from the EP is a playful pop dance track inspired by the work Dua Lipa, Daft Punk, and The Weekend has done to bring back the 80s club sound. I decided to release it with a few other songs as a 2022 sampler. Its been a great year for me creatively with eight releases amounting to over 70,000 streams on Spotify alone. In 2023 I look to keep the creative juices flowing exploring more pop genres along the way. Since you're reading this I want to say thanks for being curious about music and giving indie artists a chance. Be Well and Happy New Year!

November 21, 2022 - Today the new track "Glow" rolls out to all the streaming platforms. It's a sweet pop love song with a great verse featuring a new friend Ziberia. In the past I did some "Sad" style songs and they were cool. Truth be told - I'm most comfortable working on upbeat songs with positive vibes radiating love and appreciation. The goal with this song is to serve as an aid to connect the listener to feelings enjoyed when love is new and bigger than life.  Now for folks that dig the technical side of things, let's get into the studio for a minute. On Glow I burned a lot of calories shaping the tone of the vintage electric piano. I set out too find a warm comfortable tone,  I wanted a distinct sound that would set the song apart from the crowd. I often lean on tones found in jazz, soul and funk to arrive at my sound. Shout out to the Costco bottomless bucket of Peanut M&Ms that fueled this session.

October 16, 2022 - Tomorrow the new track "Playground" gets released. This song includes stunning vocals from the Argentinian artist Ziberia. I adore her vocals and happen to be collaborating more with her (stay tuned). My friend Jerry Wilson who writes song pitches did a wonderful job describing this song in a review. He shared... "A sexy, laid-back jam, ‘Playground’ combines an evocative vocal performance with chill, modern production to create a fully immersive experience. The hook is an instantly memorable groove, coyly romantic, & a perfect showcase for the singer’s charisma.  Clark’s production is intricate yet immediately accessible." See what I mean - he has a way with words! If you love bass like I do, you will ride this groove all the way home.  Thanks for checking in and staying curious about new music ~ PS. Clark

September 12, 2022 - Song number five (Clock Work) dropped today.  There are so many aspects of this song I'm proud of I don't know where to start. I couldn't have done this song a few months ago. Why you ask? Well - I didn't have the tools, technical skill or inspiration. I keep adding to my studio and experimenting as I go. As far as inspiration goes I have to come clean and share how this song is the result of me listening to the band  Surfaces for a week straight. They obviously aren't afraid to experiment with sound, instrumentation, and arrangement. I took notes every time I heard something that made me say "Damn that was cool". I kept those notes taped to my desk throughout production constantly asking myself "What would Forrest Frank and Colin Padalecki try here?" Suffice to say, If you dig Surfaces you may notice the inspiration. Here's a quick update - My last song "She Still Looks Good" reached the 20,000 stream milestone today. To some this is a lot, to others not so much. To me it's the most people I've ever reached with a song so cheers to that!  ~PS. Clark

August 31, 2022 - Today "She Still Looks Good" went over 10,000 streams thanks to an interesting playlist placement on Spotify. Here's the story -  I was finishing this one up and sharing it with friends and family.  I received feedback from multiple individuals (pre-release) that it sounded like a song from a Disney movie. Sort of like the Jonas Brothers. I could certainly see the resemblance and was fine with it. I respect that stuff and would never turn down a check from Mickey Mouse. Then I sent the song to my agency for playlist placement. They listen to it and share it with playlist curators to come up with a playlist placement that will serve the song and the playlist well.  Sometimes they can find a home for the song while other times they can't. In this case, they came back letting me know the song was offered a spot on a big playlist that features all the music from Disney's High School Musical franchise and was curious to see if I was OK with that placement. I snickered and thought why not. Let's see how it goes. Well, so far its been really cool... the streams are strong and I'm being exposed to a ton of new listeners.  I can't see my next release "Clock Work" ( dropping 9/12/22) being confused with a Disney song but if it is I'll roll with it. ~PS. Clark

August 14, 2022 - My new track "She Still Looks Good" is in the process of being released around the world. I know that can sound douchie but it's just the way the planet turns. As the moment the song is available  in 41 of the 251 countries Spotify services. It will hit the US in about ten hours at midnight. I'm a hands-on DIY Indie musician managing every aspect of the release. I just completed the social media new release Instagram Story which will go out in the morning.  It's really exciting to know this song was picked up by a large playlist ensuring over 10,000 people will be introduced to it in the coming month.  My previous release "People Pleaser" helped me start to grow an audience. I love this! All I want is to find a home on one of your playlists. This release makes me smile and I hope it does the same for you.  ~PS. Clark

July 20, 2022 - Holy Crap! "People Pleaser" just went over 10,000 streams on Spotify.  How do I feel? Proud and excited to get a chance to experience the satisfaction that comes with acceptance and appreciation.  Getting traction like this is really out of an artist's hands the second they release a song. To me... Each song feels like a child being pushed out into the world where all we can do is hope they find their way. I love how this one is connecting with people and can't wait to see how far it goes. ~PS. Clark

July 13, 2022 - It was around 3 PM today when Spotify informed me my single "People Pleaser" is gaining momentum around the world.  It now has over 4,000 streams across 50 countries. Pretty insane right? I celebrated by walking my dogs and sending the next track "She Still Looks Good" (release date August 15, 2022) to my publisher. I'm so appreciative for this opportunity and will always be grateful to those who connect with my music. Thanks for stopping by my web site and remaining curious about music. ~PS. Clark

July 4, 2022 - Today is the day "People Pleaser" is released to the world. I've learned a lot about how to release a song in the past month.  I found some success in my pre-release promotion efforts.  "PeoplePleaser" will be featured in some Indie Music Blogs and included in thirteen Spotify playlists. I'm excited about one very large playlist with 800,000 people streaming. In all, I'm wrapping my head around how this song will likely be introduced to over a million people in its first month. While I'm excited to see where all of this goes, I have to share a moment that made me smile. In the past week I was looking at listening reports for my previous release "Worth It". I was surprised to find I now have regular listeners outside the US in Rennes France and Athens Greece. It's a wonderful feeling to think how, given the right opportunity, music will find its audience no matter how far away that might be. Thanks for checking in with me and remaining curious about music. ~PS. Clark

May 26, 2002 - As the Spring turns to Summer I'm ramping up for my first somewhat organized song release. I'm not really sure what to expect. The new song is called "People Pleaser" and I hope it does just that - please the people!. It comes out on July 4, 2022 and a video will soon follow.  This week I'll add the final tracks, mix and master. I have my fingers crossed to land on some Spotify play lists and gain listeners in cities I've never been to. To be honest, I'm not sure what success will look like. The enjoyment I get from the creative process is reward in itself. When I finish a song I just want to share it with anyone curious enough to give it a go. Thanks for giving me a listen and remaining curious about music. ~PS. Clark
